Appreciation, Selah style.

The other day I was talking to the girls about when they become wives and how one of the most important things they can do for their husbands is to encourage and appreciate them. After giving them examples of what I meant, I told them that since they wouldn't have husbands for a long time, they could practice on someone else.

I ask, "Who's the man in your life right now?"

Charis's (4) face lights up. "Granddaddy!"

Uh. Nooooo. I ask the question again. She looks at me with a blank stare.

I try a different angle, "Who's the man that you live with?"

"Daddy!!"

"YES! And how can we encourage him right now? What are some things that you think we could do for Daddy that would show him that we appreciate him?"

Selah (3) yells, "We could get him a kitten! He would like that. And then we could play with it for him. That would encourage him."

A cat. Huh. Who knew? Jet's a very lucky man to have such attentive, selfless little girls looking out for his subconscious desires like that and all. ...Adorable. :)

That is funny. Yes, a kitten would be just the thing that says "Daddy we love and appreciate you".. now here is a little ball of fur that will scratch everything in sight and smell up the house like you wouldn't believe. "We love you Daddy!"
Seriously though I love that you are teaching them about appreciating their husbands. Thats cool. Their husbands will enjoy that. :)
