Sunday School lessons

Reading the Bible with my children always brings a fresh perspective.

Because they haven't been taught to downplay the absolute mysteriousness of God. nor are they afraid to ask question after question after question...

Questions that I'm sure I used to ask, but have since stopped asking. Not because I don't wonder. but because I just don't take the time to really think about it.

Take the story of Samson, for instance.
His strength was in his hair?! Are you kidding me?

Though Charis (6) didn't word her question exactly like that, it was the heart behind it. Because has any modern day person ever heard of such a thing: Length of Hair = Brute strength ????

I certainly never have. outside of this story, that is. A story that I honestly only think of in terms of Sunday School material.

But when I really start to digest it, I am completely overwhelmed with the way that God moves. with the way that he thinks.

And I have to wonder

1. Would I believe it if someone claimed to have God-given strength due to the length of their hair? or would I write them off as insane?

2. What nonsensical, miraculous thing does God want to do in my life? being that he obviously loves working that way.
