Confession

After the girls go to bed, Jet and I play The Game.

You see, we're both pretty competitive. We both love a good challenge. Especially one where our brains are "stretched."

So for the past week (when I'm not ending up in bed by 7pm due to sheer exhaustion), we play. Again and again. Honing the very skills that will give us an edge in winning during our next Game Night.

Family Game Night, that is. :)

Jet and I play Memory. A game who's box clearly states
"For ages 3-5. A Preschool Recognition and memory game".
Remember it?

Unfortunately, our little late night rendezvous with those colorful, matching chips hasn't helped that much. Because Jet still gets his booty kicked by a 3-year old.

Notice I said Jet. ;)

(And if you happen to have children and haven't play this game in a long time, try it. It's harder than you may remember! Maybe next time, I'll lay down my competitive side long enough to take some pictures. Maybe.)

That sounds so fun! Jim and I play Dutch Blitz, it's crazy addictive and we're both freaks about it.

try that. :)

Oh the joys of a "simple" game. How is it that my years of engineering and 3D modeling don't help me win a "child's" game?

okay, we can't remember as well because our brains are full of"stuff" like work...things we have to do...

You two are funny!
Our Memory game is a Toy Story version. For the longest time I kept the game simple by only punching out half of the game pieces. Once you get all of them out there... whew! Buzz, Jesse, Bullseye... it's a train wreck. I can't figure it out. Maybe we would benefit from that Nintendo DS (is that what it's called?) game "Brain Age". :)

Josh and I play Yahtzee! And we get SERIOUS when we play it too!

Well, that's one way to keep yourself humble! Although it sounds like your pride is creeping back in, my friend... :)

UNO is my game of choice. Before Tobin was born, Josiah and I had a great little routine going of playing a few games of UNO (or another game like Go Fish, etc.) first thing in the morning. It was cozy...sitting on the couch...waiting for the woodstove to heat up the house...playing a game. That doesn't really happen in our new routine, but I have sweet memories of it. I'm definitely a game person. Sounds like you are, too! :)

This used to be my favorite game as a kid. I LOVED Memory. So when my daughter got it a few years back, I was THRILLED.

But now I can't *remember* for the life of me where that matching card was. I'm sure there's some strategy my aging brain should be using, (3 cards from the left, 4 cards down, or some word association or something), but I simply cannot do it anymore.

I think it's SUPER cute you guys play that game!

I LOVE that you're so competitive with Memory. I need to get it for my girls. They turn three next week!
