I love Winter

We really do! My family LOVES winter and ALL that it brings. Falling Snow. Snowballs. Snowmen. Snow-covered yards that haven't been walked in yet. (Can you tell I love snow!?) The need for sweaters and scarfs and boots and hats. Ice hanging off of trees. Blizzards that bring so much snow that whole towns shut down.

We love wintertime. See the shirt?!!

But no. My town hung out in close to 70-degree weather today. In fact my neighbor was in short-sleeves doing yardwork for hours. And this isn't FLORIDA, people!! We usually do get snow. But all we've gotten this year is a small dusting of the white stuff in November. And it was gone by noon.

So while the rest of the country is getting Real Winter, we get... something else. The kind where my neighbor's plastic manger scene mocks me as I drag out the girls' bikes so they can ride in the driveway. Without boots or scarves or mittens or jackets.

Sorry. While I love WATCHING the snow fall, I'd be thrilled if it was gone by the next day. Our snow has been on the ground for weeks, no, months now. Don't get excited though, it's a dirty, ugly gray-ish color. Yuck.

I do hope you get some nice white, stick-around-a-while snow for your potentially mitten-clad kiddos!

I LOVED our last few storms. Knowing we are all home and it was coming down so hard. Play in it. Ahhh, (am I making you feel BETTER? hehe) Actually this WILL make you feel better...it was 62 here today! In the Adirondack Mts! We are not going to have any for much longer. It is supposed to snow shower again on Friday, shew...that was close.

Isn't this weather crazy! It's been a good time to let the runners in the family get their energy out. I have a certain 3 year old that acts like he's a track star!

We do hope for snow again soon!!

Winter depresses me. When it hit 50 here I was jumping with joy. The past few days have been warm and we have loved every minute of it. The first snow flake will be bitter sweet. I love the beauty of freshly fallen snow, but I don't enjoy bundling children to simply go grocery shopping.

As I am typing this all I am thinking is..."man now you are going to get hit with a blizzard" and although that would bother me(I don't heart winter)I hope you get exactly what you expect out of winter.

Our snow melted over the weekend and we have been in the 40's since. It is refreshing-ly different to our typical bitter cold January! And I know that we will get hit again before we get spring...but right now, I am enjoying our preview!

I feel the same way. I recently moved from Virginia to Kansas City and the weather is completely crazy out here. A couple days ago it was 70 and the next day it was snowing and in the 30's. When it's winter, I want it to be winter and snow. Mostly, we get a lot of ice here. :o)

I am ready for a BIG snow storm too! Although, I have to say we did enjoy that nice little break from the cold to play outside and ride bikes. ;) But now, bring on the snow! ;)

Yeah, Florida got your snow. We had a freak Tornado hit not too far from here the other day... strange and unusual weather... and I don't think it's Global Warming! ~Karlie
