Man's best friend

Heavy rains and high winds went through last week. Unknown to us, it took the lid off of our dog's food bin that sits outside, ruining all of his food.

Jet ended up having to go to the grocery store late the next night to buy a bag of dogfood.  All he said was, "I'm going to get Toby's food."

Doberman are documented as one of the smartest, most trainable dogs. Our dog's intelligence is no exception:

Obviously, he knew what Jet said.

Because he waited there...by the front door... from the moment Jet left until he returned. And as soon as Jet walked in the door, Toby ran for his food bowl. :)

He's very much a part of our family.  He earns his keep as he's got a bark and a size that'll scare the pants off of intruders. Yet he's extremely gentle to our girls and all of our neighbors.  Oh how, we love our "first born".  And I have to say if anyone is looking for a family dog that's easy to train, a Doberman is perfect.
